What is BIANCA TUTORING?


BIANCA TUTORING is dedicated to offering tutoring services to school children from Key Stage 1 to 4 (5 to 16 year old), prospective university students and adult learners. We seek to help students achieve their academic potential by providing them with high-quality, excellent tutoring services and tutors who care about their academic achievement.




What subjects can I get help with?


You can get help with any of our services listed here. We are always adding more subjects to our services, so make sure you subscribe to our mailing list to stay updated.




Who are the tutors?


Information about our tutors can be found on the Meet the Team page. Before appointment, a meeting is held between a qualified teaching member of our team and the tutor to ensure he/she will be able to help our students. So, do not worry – all our tutors are outstanding.

Students and parents are welcome to read our testimonials, where you can find feedback from students, parents and others who have previously worked with us; students and parents are also invited to give us their feedback on Trustpilot or Google. Alternatively, you could use our feedback form .




What is your tutor selection process?


  • Step 1: the tutor submits an application with the ‘Become A Tutor’ form
  • Step 2: a qualified team member contacts the tutor to set up a meeting
  • Step 3: before the meeting, the tutor will be asked to send his/her photographic ID for verification, secure 2 references, and send a copy of their DBS, or DBS reference number if it is on the DBS Update Service.

Please note that it is not compulsory for our tutors to send us their DBS. However, if they choose not to send their DBS, they will not be able to tutor our students who are under the age of 18.




Do your tutors have a DBS check?

Am I required to stay with my child?


That is completely at your discretion. However, we do advise parents to get on with whatever they need to do around the house or workwise as this allows both the tutor and your child to feel more relaxed during the tutoring session.




How do I exchange contact details with a tutor?


Exchange of contact details will only take place after your free trial lesson – that’s if you decide to continue with a tutor.




What does a tutor cost?


BIANCA TUTORING offers you its services for a fixed price of £20 per hour. You have the choice of becoming a member to benefit from even cheaper prices on our membership plans.

First lessons are always free, and if you refer a friend, the both of you will receive £5 off your next lesson.




How much does it cost to tutor two or more siblings/students at the same time?


When tutoring more than a student in the same time slot, we charge community rate - £25 per hour. This means that if you and your sibling or friends are tutored together for an hour, you would pay £25 in total.

Please note that our tutors will only accept tutoring siblings/multiple students together if they believe that their ages, abilities and needs are not far apart.

Our tutors are not obliged to accept tutoring siblings/multiple students with different abilities at the same time unless you are a non-profit organisation.




How do I book & pay for a lesson?


The procedure is straightforward.

Firstly, head to our Bookings page and choose between Online sessions and Face-to-face sessions.

Secondly, choose the service you want to book.

Thirdly, take a look at our Bookings calendar and chose the date & time you want the session to take place.

You will also have the option to select which tutor you want (that is if there are more than one tutor offering the service you chose). If you would like to book more than an hour session, just let us know and we will set it up for you.

Lastly, you will be asked for your payment details up front as confirmation of your time slot.

Please remember that you have the option of becoming a member of BIANCA TUTORING to benefit from cheaper prices on our Membership Plan.




How do I confirm a lesson?


After booking, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Simply, confirm your lesson by clicking on the link in the email sent.




How do I cancel a booking or request a refund?


To cancel a booking or request a refund for a lesson that did not take place, please contact us at info@biancatutoring.com

Please note that before any refund can take place, we will contact your tutor to confirm that the refund request is genuine. Refund will usually take up to 2-5 working days.

CANCELLATION POLICY

To cancel or reschedule, please get in touch at least 48 hours in advance. Lessons cancelled more than 48 hours before the start time of the lesson will incur no charge. Lessons cancelled less than 48 hours before their start time will be subject to a charge of 50% of the lesson cost. If there are extenuating circumstances surrounding the lesson cancellation then a full refund may be appropriate at the discretion of the tutor and BIANCA TUTORING. If you neither cancelled your lesson nor attended your session, you will be charged at full price.




Where will lessons take place?


If you choose to have a face-to-face tutoring session, your tutor can either meet you at your home or at a central location, such as a local library or a coffee shop.

If you choose to have an online session, the lesson will take place on the online platform Zoom.

Our preferred location for children is their home, where parents can oversee them if they choose to.




What is a trial lesson?


A trial lesson is a free lesson that enables you and your tutor to get to know each other. During this lesson, feel free to discuss your areas of need with your tutor. After your free trial lesson, you are free to not continue with that tutor if you think he or she does not suit you.

Our free trial lesson also enables your tutor to help you familiarise yourself with using Zoom and Bitpaper.




How long do the lessons last?


Lessons can last for an hour or more, depending on how many hours you booked your session for. You have the option of having a break of 5 or 10 minutes. This can be decided between you and your tutor during your tutoring session.




Do you do an initial assessment?


No, we do not. Instead, we offer a free trial lesson for you and your tutor to get to know each other, especially for your tutor to know the areas of study you need help with. Our free trial lesson also enables your tutor to help you familiarise yourself with using Zoom and Bitpaper.




How do I refer friends to BIANCA TUTORING?


Simply invite your friends to access our website www.biancatutoring.com. Ensure that they state who referred them when filling the ‘Become A Student’ form.

As a reward, you and your friend will receive £5 towards your next lesson. First lessons are always free. This means that your friend will receive £5 off his/her second lesson.




Can I book more than an hour session?


Lessons can last for an hour or more, depending on how many hours you booked your session for. You have the option of having a break of 5 or 10 minutes. This can be decided between you and your tutor during your tutoring session.




What is your cancellation policy?

How do I pay for online or face-to-face sessions?


Online lessons and Membership plan are paid entirely online prior to your tutoring session, and you are prompt to do so when you are booking for a service on our website. Payments are made through Wix Payment.

Face-to-face sessions are either paid online prior to your lesson or in cash after your lesson with your tutor. Please make sure that you have the correct amount of money as our tutors may not have any notes or coins to give you for your change.




Does BIANCA TUTORING accept PayPal?


No, we do not. However, PayPal option may become available in the future. Remember to subscribe to stay up to date with our news.




What is a lesson credit & how do I earn it?


Lesson Credit is a £5 reward paid by BIANCA TUTORING towards your next lesson when you refer a friend to us. Simply invite your friends to access our website www.biancatutoring.com. Ensure that they state who referred them when filling the ‘Become A Student’ form.

A £5 reward will also be paid towards your friend’s lesson. First lessons are always free. This means that your friend will receive £5 off his/her second lesson.




How do I become a blog writer for BIANCA TUTORING?


Step 1: simply send us an email at info@biancatutoring.com, with subject BLOGWRITER, stating why and what you wish to write for us.

Step 2: one of our team members will contact you to set up a meeting

Step 3: the meeting is as informal as it can be. You do not need to prepare for it. It is an opportunity for us to give you more information about us, for you to tell us more about yourself, and for us to answer any questions that you may have.

Step 4: after the meeting, you will be sent a welcome email

Step 5: you can now complete your profile on our website, and you are ready to write.




How do I review a tutor?


Students and parents are also invited to give us their feedback on Trustpilot or Google. Alternatively, you could use our feedback form.

How do I find a student?


You do not need to find students. Our students will find you. However, you are welcome to introduce new students to BIANCA TUTORING. When you do so, you do not have to pay us any commission for a month.




How do I register as a tutor?

Can tutors without a qualification tutor with you?


Absolutely! You do not need a teaching qualification to tutor with us.




Do I need a DBS check?


Please note that it is not compulsory for you to send us your DBS. However, if you choose not to send it, you will not be able to tutor our students who are under the age of 18.




How much should I charge?


At BIANCA TUTORING, we believe that reaching your academic potential does not have to be expensive. This is why we have a fixed price, avoiding students or parents being overcharged by experienced tutors or qualified teachers.




What subjects do I have to tutor?


We advise you tutor students in a subject that you are confident with. BIANCA TUTORING is always on the search for new tutors to tutor our growing number of students, who have subject needs that are different from the ones we currently offer. So if you can tutor a subject different from the ones listed on Our Services page, we want you to join us. If you wish to work with us, simply complete our application form.




Can I exchange contact details with students?


Exchange of contact details will only take place after your free trial lesson – that’s if the student decides to continue with you.




Am I employed by BIANCA TUTORING?


No. We only offer you our website as a platform for connecting with students, which means you are self-employed. For information on the responsibilities attached to this, please visit the GOV.UK website.




Can I tutor two or more students at the same time?


Yes. However, when tutoring more than a student in the same time slot, we charge community rate - £25 per hour.

Please inform us if you teach multiple students at the same time as the student may have made an online payment of only £20 prior to the lesson, not knowing that our rates are different for that type of session.

Ensure you inform parents as well about our prices before accepting.

Please only accept tutoring siblings/multiple students together if you believe that their ages, abilities and needs are not far apart.

You are not obliged to accept tutoring siblings/multiple students with different abilities at the same time unless you are dealing with a non-profit organisation.
